If anyone has the money to spare I'd suggest using $36 to get lifetime ARPA level membership to both SDF.org and SDF-EU.org (so a total of $72). Even if it sits idle.

And also the Anime that it got it's name from is on Archive.org

This had far less macross saga than I'd hoped!

Oh this isn't about the anime Macross, just the name inspired by it.

Gosh I do hanker for some fresh new mecha stuff (guess where my HN name is from)

Last one I had was Armored Core 6

> It's June 16, 1987. Ted Uhlemann ("iczer") plugs an Apple IIe's 300-baud[1] modem into a phone line his mother had just given him for his birthday, running Magic City Micro-BBS (written in Applesoft BASIC). He names it SDF-1 after his favorite anime

Dude was into anime in 1987?? Truly ahead of his time.

Aww I joined as a kid, sent them $1 in the mail and used to hang in com. Then when Facebook was new, had the sdf network in my networks which all my friends wondered what it was. Was running desktop Linux then so never really had a use for it. Would love to know how people have used it over the years
